To the Editor:
The mainstream political battle of Bush vs. Kerry is like the cola war of Coke vs. Pepsi -- the contents and packaging are only slightly different, and neither one is actually good for you! Isn't it time to choose something with a little more substance, something more than high-priced marketing and catchy slogans?
The Libertarian Party stands for individual freedom, personal responsibility, and limited government -- and these are not just promotional buzzwords, they represent a philosophy and a way of life. To live freely and peacefully and allow others to do the same, to take responsibility for our own actions, to keep all government out of our personal life choices and restrict the federal government to its constitutional boundaries; these are the hallmarks of the libertarian ideal.
If you're dissatisfied with the state of our government, then demand a higher standard from our elected officials, instead of lowering your own expectations. And if you believe in the ideal of a free and self-governing society as I do, vote Libertarian.
