Speech: On October 15, 1998 at 8 PM, Chris Garvey - Libertarian Candidate for Governor of NY - will be speaking as Past Chair of the Nassau Bar Association's Speaker's Bureau Subcommittee on the subject of Third Parties in America. The venue is the nonpartisan People's Town Forum in Long Beach, off Long Island, NY at the Long Beach Library.

Chris Garvey, a graduate of Sacred Heart HS, Columbia University, and Yeshiva University's Benj. Cardozo Law School, is a Patent Attorney and a Sailing Instructor. He has been involved in the third parties since in 1971, when he wrote in John Hospers for President. In 1994 he was involved in the litigation with the NY State Board of Elections which ultimately resulted in the removal of some of the more irrational legal impediments to third party ballot access in New York State.
Television: Sunday, October 18, Don Silberger's two-minute spot will be broadcast at 3PM on WNED-TV (Buffalo). A radio version will be broadcast over WNED-AM 970, at a time to be announced. (transcript)
The Great Drug Debate: Tuesday October 20th, 1998 at 1pm at The Fashion Insitute of Technology in NYC West 27th St., bet 7th & 8th Aves. Outside between A&B buildings. Matt Z. Siegel of the NY Libertarian Party will be at this debate passing out THE WORLD'S SMALLEST POLITICAL QUIZ as well as flyers promoting the NYLP 1998 slate of candidates. NY State Rifle & Pistol Association meeting: Chris Garvey attended the NYSRPA annual meeting October 10th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains. He passed out literature and spoke with the Association's board and other members.
Radio: Tuesday, October 6, 1998 at 5:25 to 5:32 Chris Garvey - Libertarian Candidate for Governor of NY was interviewed on WSYR am 570, in Syracuse, on Central New York's Afternoon News, with host Kevin Schenk.

They discussed the Libertarian Principle, the war on drugs, the two identical non-competing parties, the Texas LP's congressional candidates; monetary history, tax history, welfare for the rich, the 21 year-old drinking age, the FDA, government schools, and our solutions. Radio: Brad Casey of the WALL news hour AM 1340 in Middletown, NY, did an interview with Chris Garvey - Libertarian Candidate for Governor of NY, this morning, Monday Sept. 21, 1998. The interview will air in segments this week between 5: and 6: pm, and covered the Libertarian principle, ending the drug war, repealing the Sullivan Law or overcoming it administratively, the Long Island Power Authority, wasting your vote on two identical major parties, and ending the sales tax. WALL's signal covers Orange and Rockland Counties, and parts of Sullivan and Putnam.
Radio: Chris Garvey, Libertarian Candidate for Governor of New York Friday Sept. 18, 1998 at 11:05 am in Binghamton NY on WNBF AM 1290 The host is Bob Joseph, the show format is talk and news format, and the interview is expected to be about a half hour.
Rescheduled: The 9/16 interview scheduled for 8:30 am on radio WUSB 90.1 FM in Stonybrook, NY failed due to tech problems in the studio with the phone patch. It will be rescheduled. Host Chris Sorochin did spend some of the air time criticizing the war on drugs and the 21 year old drinking age.
Radio: Host Joey Bienze of the 9/16 WYRE interview at Dowling College took flyers and bumper stickers for further on-campus distribution. Interviews may appear in the local and school papers.
